10 DecÂé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» signs MoU with Academy of Sciences Malaysia for research initiatives



KUALA LUMPUR, 10 December 2021 ¨C Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» University, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Poll Research Centre and Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) have entered in a tripartite agreement to advance research collaboration.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» University Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, ASM CEO, Mdm Hazami Habib and Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Poll Research Centre CEO, Associate Professor Dr Pek Chuen Kee in the presence of ASM President, Professor Emerita Datuk Dr Asma Ismail FASc, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research & Postgraduate Studies, Senior Professor Dr. Phang Siew Moi FASc and Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Poll Research Centre Manager, Foo Fang Ee.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Poll Research Centre is part of Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» University, but independent with a particular focus and capabilities. It mainly focuses on areas of problem-solving research and modelling analysis.
The event was held at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» University and witnessed by academics and staff from all three entities.
Moving forward, Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah said the synergy between the three parties will set the scene for greater research initiatives to identify new insights and breakthroughs.
¡°This MoU establishes a working framework between our esteemed organisations and I hope that it will be a precursor to many joint initiatives that will bring us mutual benefit,¡± she said in her speech.
ASM President, Professor Emerita Datuk Dr Asma Ismail FASc said, ¡°the Academy endeavours to be a voice of influence and change maker in our STIE landscape. One of the keys is adopting a cross-cutting, multi-disciplinary approach beyond conventional disciplines and forging meaningful collaborations.¡±
¡°Collaboration and knowledge sharing is no longer a choice but, an inevitable feature of progress in the 21st century. On that note, the collaboration between the Academy and Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» is a step in the right direction. Let us synergise our efforts for nation-building,¡± she added.
