Situated at the Isthmus in Kuching, Sarawak, the campus offers a dynamic & stimulating environment in which to study foundation studies, business, accounting and finance, as well as hospitality and tourism management.  

With Kuching¡¯s distinct biodiversity, socio-economic and geographical features, the Kuching campus is focused on delivering niche programmes harnessing the region¡¯s pristine setting therefore appealing to students who are keen to discover and understand its uniqueness. This campus houses three unique faculties which include the Centre for Pre-U Studies, the Faculty of Business and Management and the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Currently located in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Hotel, the campus will be spread over 25.5 acres of land expanding its facilities and programme offerings, all within the vicinity of the famed Borneo Convention Centre at the Isthmus.

QS World University Rankings 2025

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ University climbed 35 spots in the QS World University Rankings 2025 to rank 265th in the world, placing in the world¡¯s top 1% for the third year running.


With both foundation in arts and science programmes offered, the Centre prepares students for their early global success. These professionally accredited business programmes are considered by professional bodies to have real career value. The faculty provides its students the opportunities to gain global perspective and outlook of today¡¯s international economy and develop broad knowledge of business operations as well as gain targeted skills in specific fields within an international context. As part of the Faculty's philosophy in effecting positive change through transformative education, the programmes are diversified to cultivate an authentic learning environment.

Indeed, the hospitality and tourism industry in Sarawak, overall, is on the upswing, with visitor and tourism arrivals increasing year-on-year, validating the campus as an ideal centre for hospitality and tourism programmes. Currently, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, housed at the Sarawak campus, offers a suite of programmes in hospitality, event and tourism, leisure, culinary arts and hotel management. The campus provides a unique opportunity for hospitality students to learn the fundamentals of bridging theory and practice. The faculty works closely with the hotel operational managers to include non-intrusive operational exposure for students enrolled in various core courses such as F&B management, housekeeping and the various support functions such as marketing, accounting and human resources. Moreover, the Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism Management also provides internships to various five-star hotels locally and overseas in countries like Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, Macau, Australia, Hong Kong, China, Maldives among many others.

Through this strategic partnership, it offers Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ students with the best of both worlds in terms of affordability and the opportunity to enjoy from HTMi Switzerland¡¯s global network of career network service, mobility and internship.

Additionally, this partnership offers the students with dual award programmes for BA (Hons) Hospitality Management and BA (Hons) in Event & Tourism Management


As a Praxis University Campus, it is strongly linked to the industry and works closely with various government agencies and ministries to ensure its programmes of study remain not only relevant to the current demands of the related industries but also to the Malaysian state of Sarawak and the world. Students¡¯ learning takes place through hands-on praxis experience from the management of operations, revenue generation, events design and planning, consulting, sales, marketing & promotion, service design and service offering. Through its structured internship programmes, students of the campus are known to have the opportunity to work with renowned companies all over the world. Faculty staff employ research-informed teaching and industry experience to prepare students to thrive in a more creative future of work.

JRTM is published by Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ University (Faculty Of Hospitality And Tourism Management) and Sarawak Research Society, Supported By Ministry Of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MTAC) Sarawak and RCE (Regional Centre of Expertise) Kuching.


The Regional Centre of Expertise Kuching (RCE Kuching), acknowledged by the United Nations University- Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability operates from the campus to promote education for sustainable development. It aims to work with youth, academia, NGOs, non-formal educational organizations and government agencies to build platforms and opportunities to translate global objectives such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UNESCO¡¯s ESD for 2030 Roadmap in Kuching. The campus community has the opportunity to be a part of this prestigious centre and represent the campus as RCE Kuching ambassadors and work with others in the region to engage for change in their local communities.
