Overview

The Diploma in Pharmacy programme provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute e?ectively to the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries as pharmacy assistants and technicians. The programme aims to strengthen the nation¡¯s need for competent and quali?ed pharmacy support sta? in the healthcare sector by educating students on various aspects of pharmaceutics, pharmacy practices, communication skills, healthcare management and entrepreneurship and includes attachments in hospital, community, and industrial settings.

Academic Requirements

SPM /O-Levels

Completed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject (Biology / Chemistry / Physics / General Science) and one any other subject, or its equivalent.

STPM

Completed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP2.00) in any subject, or its equivalent; and completed SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject (Biology / Chemistry / Physics / General Science) and one any other subject, or its equivalent.

STAM

Completed Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul, or its equivalent; and completed SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject (Biology / Chemistry / Physics / General Science) and one any other subject, or its equivalent.

SKM

Completed Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) (Level 3, MQF) in a related field (health science related) and completed SPM with one (1) credit.

Certificate

A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent.

UEC

Minimum grade B in 3 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics and 1 science subject.

Polytechnic/Certificate Equivalents

Minimum CGPA 2.0

Equivalent Courses

Case-by-case basis.

Matriculation

CGPA of 2.0 and above with minimum Grade E in Mathematics, one science subject (Biology / Chemistry / Physics / General Science) and one other subject.

Other qualifications deemed equivalent to SPM/O-Levels by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency

Aggregate 50% inclusive of Mathematics, one science subject and one other subject.

  • International applicants who do not meet the respective academic programme¡¯s English Language Requirement will need to improve their proficiency by enrolling into the English for Tertiary Education programme (R/KJP/00920-00929) which helps prepare them in attaining a required band score. Placement into the various levels of the English for Tertiary Education programme depends on the English Language qualification students have at the point of admission and/or the outcome of the English Placement Test.
