Overview
The Diploma in Packaging Science and Technology programme provides students with the knowledge and technical skills to contribute e?ectively to the design of packaging products and their development to solve conventional packaging problems in the industries. The programme trains students to become professional packaging technologists to drive innovation and product packaging quality in the industries, with a pathway to the Bachelor of Formulation Science programme upon graduation.
Academic Requirements
SPM / O-Levels
Completed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent.
STPM
Completed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP2.00) in any subject, or its equivalent; and completed SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent.
STAM
Completed Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul, or its equivalent; and completed SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject, or its equivalent.
SKM
Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) (Level 3, MQF) in a related field and completed SPM with one (1) credit.
Certificate
A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, or its equivalent.
UEC (Unified Examination Certificate)
Minimum grade B in 3 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics and one science subject.
Polytechnic / Certificate Equivalents
Minimum CGPA 2.0.

CGPA of 2.0 and above with minimum Grade E in Chemistry and Biology/Physics/Mathematics.
SAM (South Australian Matriculation)
Aggregate 50% inclusive of Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Mathematics.

Aggregate 50% inclusive of Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Mathematics.
WAEC (West African Examinations Council) / NECO (National Examinations Council)
Aggregate 50% inclusive of Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Mathematics.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Minimum score of 20/42 in 6 subjects including Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Mathematics.
Minimum score of 3/7 in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Mathematics.

- International applicants who do not meet the respective academic programme¡¯s English Language Requirement will need to improve their proficiency by enrolling into the English for Tertiary Education programme (R/KJP/00920-00929) which helps prepare them in attaining a required band score. Placement into the various levels of the English for Tertiary Education programme depends on the English Language qualification students have at the point of admission and/or the outcome of the English Placement Test.
