Event Manager

Take charge of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Group¡¯s events and community outreach initiatives in the overall effort to drive positive branding for the company. This will require you to serve as the primary point of contact for events and function as the ¡°face¡± of the company.
This role is based at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» University (KL Campus) in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be required to:
- Drive positive branding for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Group through events and community engagement initiatives.
- Foster a dynamic and collaborative environment amongst the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» community through events and community engagement.
- Ensure that event venues are fully operational, processes are running smoothly and protocol is taken care of.
- Network with company leaders, external VIPs and other stakeholders before, during and after the event.
- Work and coordinate effectively with other teams, particularly the Group Logistics and Management Office (GLMO), Student Affairs & Alumni (SAA) and Group Human Resource (GHR),
Event execution
- Ensure flawless execution of events, maintaining a satisfaction rating of at least 80% from stakeholders and attendees throughout the year.
- Take charge of end-to-end responsibility for events - Prepare event checklists, ensure compliance with checklists, hold all stakeholders accountable and ensure protocols are in place.
- Operate within given budgets and negotiate with external suppliers when necessary.
Attendance, promotion and participation
- Encourage participation and engagement for in-house and external community initiatives, measured by metrics like participation rates, attendance, social media interactions and feedback.
- Collaborate with SAA and GHR to come up with university and company-wide initiatives that foster dynamism on campus and at the workplace.
- Work with the content creation, video and social media teams to come up with promotional content for events.
Public relations and outreach initiatives
- Assist the content creation team on public relations, media relations and community outreach programmes.
- Communicate the organisation¡¯s narrative and brand positioning effectively.
Requirements
- A Bachelor¡¯s degree in events management, hospitality, business administration, marketing or any related field.
- A good events management track record over 3 to 6 years.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all aspects of an event (e.g. logistics, catering, VIP arrivals, staff on duty, crowd management, etc) are well taken care of.
- Excellent soft skills to effectively engage VIPs, company leaders, guests, colleagues and other external parties.
- A good mastery of protocol is required (e.g. Proper salutations, seating and standing arrangements, usage of titles, etc)
- Adaptability to adjust to changing circumstances and resilience to handle pressure when things don¡¯t go according to plan.
